Rosie Marks-Smith
Concert Manager
Rosie Marks-Smith first attended Border Music Camp as a trombone student, and is delighted to continue her connection with the camp as a member of staff. She has served as Concert Manager since 2009, supporting the many performances that take place throughout the camp and helping ensure that young musicians have the best possible experience on stage.
Rosie studied at the University of Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Music. She also took part in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Arts Administration summer program, which helped shape her interest in the many professional pathways that support music-making behind the scenes.
Rosie has built a career in arts administration spanning more than a decade. A highlight was supporting the musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra as Orchestra Manager, working intimately with some of Australia’s best classical musicians.
Rosie now works in arts culture and wellbeing, focusing on initiatives that support healthy, respectful and high-performing creative workplaces. This perspective informs the approach she brings to Border Music Camp, where she is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment in which young artists can do their best work.
